Ready to take your breakfast game to the next level? This Shakshuka breakfast pizza is a bold and flavorful way to start your day (or any time of day)! Featuring a perfect mix of savory Shooka Sauce, sausage, and eggs, it's sure to leave everyone satisfied. Let’s get cooking!
Ingredients:
- 1 premade or homemade pizza dough
- ½ cup Shooka Sauce (add more if you like it saucy!)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or your favorite cheese
- ½ lb sausage, crumbled and pan seared
- 4-5 eggs
- salt and pepper, to taste
- feta
- optional: ½ jalapeño
- optional: fresh herbs (parsley or basil for topping)
- optional: chili flakes (if you like it spicy)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). While the oven heats up, roll out your premade pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Transfer it to a baking pan lined with parchment paper or a lightly oiled baking sheet
- Spread Shooka Sauce on the dough, making sure to leave a small border around the edges. Sprinkle your shredded cheese evenly across the pizza and add the crumbled sausage
- Slide the pizza into the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the dough starts to cook and the cheese gets bubbly
- Pull the pizza out and use the back of a spoon to create small divots for the eggs. Gently crack each egg into its spot on the pizza and sprinkle on the feta and jalapeños
- Return the pizza to the oven and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the eggs are just set but still slightly runny.
- Once the eggs are cooked to your liking, remove the pizza from the oven. Add your fresh herbs, sprinkle some salt and pepper
- Slice it up and serve immediately while the eggs are still soft. Tip: the longer you wait, the more the egg will cook from the heat of the pizza.
